“Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them. You will find that they haven’t half the strength you think they have.” – Norman Vincent Peale
We all have obstacles, intrusions, stressful situations, etc or whatever you want to call them. They are a given of life. You know it and I know it. How we deal with them is not something that is easy to do, nor do we all have that in common. Some of us like to avoid obstacles…because the make us go where we don’t want to or because we fear the outcome. I know someone who would rather put her head in the sand (like an ostrich) than deal with tough times. No one can live that way, because then you are trying to control this world and turning into “fantasy land”. No one likes it when we have speed bumps, pot holes, or other stuff in the way as we travel our road of life. No one. But because they exist, we have to learn to deal with them and deal with them appropriately. Most of our obstacles are the ones we never see coming…the ones that come out of their hiding places like a PUMA!!! But when we face our fears and take that step or ask that question that we have been absolutely dreading, usually the outcome is not nearly as bad as we think it will be. A bully has no strength if we don’t give in to being bullied. Obstacles have no power either if we don’t let them have that power. I love challenges, because they make me stronger. They push me to go places I never thought I could go. They make me never wanting to give up. So the next time an obstacle comes your way, meet it head on with all the MOXIE you have and that makes you YOU….it will never know what hit it. HAGD!!!!
