Don’t just get by, not with a mediocre attitude or somewhat average impact on those around you. You have to “BE GREAT!” But before you can be, you have to believe. You have to realize that you are here for a reason and that reason may not make one iota of sense to you…but it is within you. It is what your heart sings about and no one but you can hear it. It makes it magical and draws you towards people and places you never thought you would be drawn to, but yet you are. You almost cannot explain it, but you don’t understand it yourself. It is not enough to talk about what you want your life to mean, you have to take action. You have to give every second, every breath, every moment EVERYTHING because you never know when your life ends. I attended a memorial service for a co-worker over the weekend and it was standing room only. His widow was very grateful and appreciative of the many people who came out to pay their last respects. What kind of legacy do you want to leave? How do you want to be remembered? Is blending into the back of the crowd and almost disappearing from sight something that you dream of at night? About a year and a half ago, I read several questions that were listed in a magazine and I have used two of them to guide me in my wayward way of making my life mean something. I have to ask myself how I want the world to be different because I lived in it and how I want to be different because I lived in the world. I am different every day…sometimes, from one moment to the next. I may never know how the world is different because I lived in it, but sometimes I get the privilege of being a witness to something I have said or done that has impacted others. So again, I ask you…do you want your life to mean something? If so, what are doing to make sure that it does? Are you sharing your dreams and working towards them becoming reality? Does your heart sing to you when you are in the middle of that dream? Even if no one tells you or you never see it, your life will always be special to you. And because of that, it means everything.
