Most of us are amateurs and know nothing about building anything. Unless you are an engineer of some kind, of which I am not. Are you? But I guess I was thinking that we don’t need credentials to build something out of nothing. And the best part is that it doesn’t have to be something that you see…it can be something that you feel. Building confidence is a perfect example of building something out of nothing. You can’t really see it, so to speak, but you can when you feel it. Have you ever been around someone who was more shy and hesitant when surrounded by others? I am sure that we could think of a few people who have been a part of our lives. I also have met others that are abrasive, controlling, and downright pushy. That’s not confidence…that is something that people shy away from. The sad part is that it doesn’t have to be that way. You know, when I lost weight, it was mentioned to me that I was walking around work, like I was “better than everyone else” and I was accused of being “stuck up.” I was appalled that someone like me would ever be associated with those kinds of words. But you know what, maybe I just felt better about myself and I was more confident. I didn’t lose weight for anyone else except me and I certainly did not need anyone else’s permission to lose weight. Are you constantly building in your life? Are you working hard towards a goal that seems just do out of reach? Are you building a bridge between you and someone else that you want to back in your life? Are you building lasting impressions that would be impossible to erase, even though they seem so tiny? Do you take pride in something so much , so that at the end of the day, you quietly say to yourself, “I built that.” Even if you never see it again, you know. Your purpose was to build it, not support it. Nothing is more important than that because you cannot support that which was never created. Therefore, BUILD!
