people telling me I can’t do something.  UGH!!  When they tell me something is impossible or negate everything I believe to be true about myself and all that makes me who I am.  Yesterday, a young man told me that his parents think he is a “screw up” and I could see the hurt in his eyes.  I told him that he still has to believe that he has potential and a life to live.  I told him that no one gets excited about someone doing something that has already been done before.  People get excited when the impossible has just become the possible.  It reminds us all that there are no boundaries and we should not let other people dictate what we can or cannot do.  Why do we do that?  Because it is easier to believe that we will fail before we will succeed and sometimes it works out that way.  Find me one BMX professional that has never taken a spill somewhere.  We all fail and we all have a chances to succeed.  But do not let others and their opinions of us mean more than what we believe about ourselves.  “Frustration should create action, not make you want to give up.”  So, here is where we find out who you are and what you want…are you going to let others decide what kind of life you should live or will you decide?  When you are confronted with road blocks and set backs, will you quit? Or find another way to get where you want to go?  What will it take to really say, “I cannot go back.  I have to find a way to push through and failure is not an option.” ?  What excuse or justification are you using to get through so you don’t have to be accountable to anyone else?  Why?  Progress is progress, regardless of how fast you there.  One step take you closer to your goal.  One comment can change someone else forever.  Nothing is impossible and someone telling me it is has just fueled my fire.  I will prove you wrong…maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday.  And eventually someday comes to us all.
