Hello, 2017!
Like you, I embrace the new year.
It’s not because I am ready to let go of the old one, it’s more about what lay ahead.
I’m not one to make a resolution and attempt to keep it for the next 365 days.
One or two challenges throughout the year is much more manageable.
Two years ago, I learned to scuba dive and completed 3 races (a 5k, a 10k, and a half marathon) within 24 hours. This past year, I sky dived and completed a marathon.
As of right now, I have one challenge in mind that will be a little easier on my body.
But I’m ready.
There is a lot of hype that comes with the beginning of anything and this year will be no exception.
Right now, we see possibility.
We seek great moments yet to unfold.
Hopes and dreams abound!
No matter who we are or where we come from, our hopes and dreams fuel our excitement for this new year.
We no longer find ourselves bound by past failures or saddled by doubts.
Our fears seem to have disappeared as well.
Instead, we have placed our focus on the wishes of our hearts, allowing them to be seen and like never before.
We don’t see barriers.
Our vision and imagination is not hindered.
At times, our hopes become our passion and other times, a dream simply becomes something we can claim as an accomplishment.
In these moments, we not only define the road we took to get here, but the road we intend to take from here.
Knowing that life is full of surprises, we are eager to get started and be on our way.
The steps we take towards our ambitions may be ore visible while others no one even notices.
Understanding that not every hope or every dream will come to fruition, we still crave the sense of adventure that comes with trying.
Let’s go!
As you look to the horizon and feel the pull of the unknown, let life surprise you with moments you never could have planned.
Allow a step backwards to give you a new perspective regarding something you otherwise would never have seen.
Fight through the moments of doubt and hold fast to what you know in your heart.
Have faith in the outcome, believing that every reason has a purpose.
Get back up when you fall and never let the momentum of your hopes and dreams come to a stall.
Surround yourself with people who have an energy that encourages you and become aware of the heartbeat to your soul.
Today is here.
Let’s make it count.
Do the same tomorrow.
