What you stand for

What do you value most?  What do you believe about certain topics where public opinion seems to be right at the fore-front right about now with the elections, just around the corner.  Who do we believe and why?  It just gets repetitive and trite and I ignore it if I can.  What committment would you make, believing in your heart that it was the right one?  I saw a quote the other day that I fell in love with…”Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it and right is right even when no one else is doing it.”   What do you stand for?  Would you die for someone else, without hesitation or convincing?  You know who you are and what you hold true.  You know what you like and don’t like.  I see it in the decisions that you make and with the words you use.  Your choices tell us more about you than you think.  Sometimes, our hearts are tested in situations where taking the easy route is, well, just that – easy.  Some of us cave and give in to temptation and greed knowing that it is wrong, but justification and excuses become a tag line that we can live with going forward.  Why do some of us refuse to bow to simple tactics meant to lower our standards and bring us to a level we are not accustomed.  My integrity has been questioned in the past, but it is one thing I will protect when I know the truth and when I see what others are doing is wrong.  Do you stand up for injustice when you see it?  Do you believe that we all have potential and a purpose, even if it is not yet found?  Are you a man of your word?  Should people believe you?  Our character says a lot about who we are and the way others interpret what we show them.  And we do the same to others, whether we mean to or not.  What do you stand for?  What thought will hold you forever that no amount of time or talking would get you to sway your view on a certain subject?  I bet you could pick a few, if you haven’t already.  That’s ok, but we know it when they come up and hopefully, we are doing more right than wrong.  Regardless of who is watching or who else is right beside you.
