Why would we do that? We do it all the time. The grand finale in the neighborhood firework show is the biggest, loudest, and brightest. The last game in a season is the championship. But life doesn’t work that way. We NEVER know when it will be our last trip to see our family. When we kiss our loved ones goodbye. Our life is meant to be lived and if we save “our” best for our last moment, then we cheat everyone out of getting our very best every day. For a long time, I am not sure what I was saving up for, but I don’t hold back any more. I want my best to be now. I want my life to mean something, even if I never know what that something is for anyone I meet on my travels. We all have times when we want to be lazy and not give it all we have — I understand that and am there sometimes myself. But I never stay there long…my soul won’t let me dwell on not challenging myself to be more than I was the day before. Sometimes, my best is something that I could have easily dismissed as unimportant and minor, but if I think that and it means the world to someone else, then I have just cheated them out of my best. They deserve my best, don’t you think? Why wait? Because it can be scary to excel…expectations become higher (and so does the failure when it comes) and we leave people behind (not intentionally) as we move on. We save the best for last when we know it is the end…we don’t know when our end is coming so we have to use all we can to share our MOXIE with the world. I urge you to look at your life and see where you can show your best…share your talents and skills with those who are lacking in those areas. People love who you are, but if you are saving it to the end, no one gets to enjoy it and love it. No more saving….spend your best now…you will be gain more by that then you ever imagined.
