We are all busy in our lives. It happens. Sometimes, we are busier than others and are not even sure how we get from one day to the next with everything going on. I know I look back and in a blink wonder how I got through three months. But in the middle of that chaos, are we just running around checking tasks off lists or are we really living our lives? There is a difference. I know I have lists for just about anything I need to get done — even if it is just running errands on the weekend — but I never want to get so busy that I forget to live my life. I want to be grateful every day. I want to remember that I have a responsibility to make my life the best it can be, even if no one notices. Can you be missing out on a life that you need to live? The life you were destined to live? This past week, I was asked to share how I got started with my blog and where it has taken me now. It was almost strange to revisit the last three years, recollecting how everything happened, who was with me, and how I stumbled into this place now. As I looked around the room, I saw the confused faces staring back at me, with the slight turn of their head and the furrowed brow as I tried to explain how my life was and how my life is now. How is your life been going for you so far? Are you wishing you could do something but always find a way to talk yourself out of it? Do you wonder how you can make it all work? Guess what…if you want it bad enough and work hard enough to get it, things will change. But you have to be willing to try. Even if you fail. Living your life means making it up as you go along because no one has the instructional manual. Even mine is different from yours. Even when suggestions are made by others, we still have to stay true to what life WE are meant to live. We cannot be guilted into a life that is not ours. No one can choose this life for us. It is ours and ours alone. We are all granted the same 24 hours a day and yet our minutes here are never guaranteed. At some point our lives will come to a close and people will not remember the number of tasks we accomplished. Stop running around and live your life with purpose and by choice. Don’t just be busy…be busy LIVING!
